Edinburgh Half MarathonThis post was originally published on this site
Agnes Kay has decided to run her first marathon in aid of the Fungal Infection Trust.
I decided to take a huge leap and challenge myself, with some friends spurring me on to do a half marathon. Well after many months of training in a few weeks time I’l be running my first Edinburgh Half Marathon!
More importantly I’ve decided to do this run and raise funds for two charities.
The first charity personal to my family is the Fungal Infection Trust who work tirelessly to raise monies for research into fungal infection such as the life threatening Aspergillosis – once in the lungs of a compromised person it can be fatal.
As most of my family and close friends know my father was diagnosed with a life threatening condition, Aspergillosis a couple of years ago. Fortunately with the doctors and consultants expertise, travelling for regular hospital visits between Edinburgh, Borders General and the National Aspergillosis Centre, Wythenshawe Manchester, he was prescribed with the anti fungal drugs he needed to get him back to health.
Research is carried out by the Fungal Infection Trust and I can hopefully be able to raise a significant sum to help support F.I.T continue their research into fungal infections.
Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to these charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity’s behalf where the donor is eligible for this.
Any donations will be hugely appreciated, big or small – a small donation will still help!
Many thanks for your support
