Confidentiality/Privacy

The Fungal Infection Trust collects some personal information (e.g. name, email address) when users register for our newsletter. Information is stored by the company that process our forms & emails (Mailchimp) – for information on how they use & store your details go to their Privacy Policy here.

Newsletters

You can unsubscribe from our monthly newsletters or edit the information held on you at Mailchimp by following the instructions on their emails. We will ONLY contact you via email.

All of this data is only accessible by website and database managers and will never be used for any other purpose other than that for which it was submitted or sold on to third parties.

Continuous logs are maintained of  web server activity. These log files include the details of your IP address (only for the purpose of estimating your location for crude demographic analysis), browser type, page last visited etc. Log files are used to analyse usage of this website, and may be kept in an anonymised form for historical records.

Some parts of the FIT may use cookies for security purposes (e.g. to save the user from having to re-enter their details for every page in a section of the site). If you email us to ask a question, report a fault etc, we will only use the personal data you provide to reply to your message. We do not keep this information, or share it with any third party unless you have consented to this or this is so permitted by law.

Google Analytics

Currently we are using Google Analytics to analyze the audience of the website and improve our content. No personal information is collected from Google Analytics and they only collect obfuscated IP addresses from us, thus protecting your identity.
